I was thinking of preparing something for the next mornings breakfast. I saw some pears that are a little too soft for my liking so I thought that I should use those in some way. I instantly thought about chopping them up and tossing them into a little sauce pot. Well, I only chopped up one since I didn't want waste them all if it didn't turn out good. Anyway, after throwing them in the pot I looked in my spice cabinet to see what was in there. I took out a few things and added them to the pot of chopped up pears...

-Honey
-White Cooking Wine
-Cinnamon
-Brown Sugar
-Vanilla

I mixed them all up and then let it thicken up.

Now I had to think of what I was going to do with the mixture. I though of making pancakes but I already did that with my last breakfast creation (I'll post that one up later) so I made some crepes instead. Yeah yeah, it's pretty much the same thing. What am I going to fill it with was the next thing on my mind. I had to think of something easy since it was late and by that time I was getting tired. So I just pulled out my handy dandy (thanks blues clues) bucket of cream cheese and scooped out...oh about 1/2 cup. Then I just grabbed my hershey's choc. syrup and squeezed a bunch in there and mixed it all up. All I had left to do was to put it all together. So I just slathered some choc. cream cheese in the middle of the crepe, added the pear mix on top and then rolled it. It didn't look finished so I went in my fridge and grabbed out my caramel syrup and drizzled it on top. Then the finishing touch was a little powdered sugar over the top.

The taste test was of course next and let me tell you....it was delicious. It was my first time cooking with pears and I was so happy that it didn't turn out gross. I gave some to my daughters teacher and a good friend of mine that is also a teacher at my daughter's school, since it's Teacher Appreciation Week. They said they liked them too and I'm glad about that because I would have been so imbarrassed if they didn't.

I didn't take any pics though. But I will make them again tomorrow..a bigger version and then I will show you what they look like. I'm even going to have to take the time to measure out my ingredients for you all, since I just winged it the first time.

So here are the pics for you to see what they look like. I think I'm going to put the caramelized pears on top of the crepes the next time I make these...just so it doesn't look so plain on the plate.

Monkey Madness

Here is my latest baking creation. I usually just use whatever I have in my kitchen to make my so called experiments. So far I've had luck on my side.

Here's how to make it.

Banana/Caramel Cupcake

3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/8 cups canola oil
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 ripe bananas, mashed
1 1/2 cups milk

1/3 cup caramel syrup

1 small box of instant vanilla pudding

1 pouch dream whip

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Frosting

2 (8oz) packages cream cheese, softened

3 cups powdered sugar

1 cup creamy peanut butter

¼ cup chocolate syrup

Chocolate layer

1/3 bag of chocolate melting wafers

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients.
